
John Terelak was born in Boston in 1942. He attended the Vesper George School of Art, also in Boston, where he later became an instructor. Mr. Terelak founded the Gloucester Academy of Fine Arts in Gloucester, Massachusetts which he directed for many years. In addition to numerous one-man exhibitions (at Mongerson Wonderlich Gallery in Chicago and Grand Central Art Galleries in New York, among others), His work has been shown at the National Academy of Design, Bostons Museum of Fine Arts, the Springfield Museum, the Butler Museum, and is part of the Andrew Mellon Collection. Called both an American Impressionist and an American Traditionalist, John lives and works in the Rockport Massachusetts area where he resides with his wife and four children.
