Michael Kahn has managed to turn his greatest passions (boats and photography) into fine art. Antique boats of the Adirondack lakes, Chesapeake Bay and coastal waters of New England are manipulated in the darkroom, resulting in the rich toned and technically advanced silver gelatin prints that are his trademark. The difficult process Michael uses is a challenge to control and has a high rate of failure. These complexities limit production to small editions of 40. Within an edition, no image can be exactly duplicated due to the hands-on process. Each Michael Kahn photograph is therefore essentially an original. You will find his work exhibited in museums and galleries across the country. It has appeared in Architectural Digest, Historic Preservation and Cruising World magazines and is sought after by private and corporate collectors.
