Young artist Lindsay Goodwin (b. 1982), has already achieved significant notariety in the art world for her highly detailed and exquisitely rendered historic interiors and classical figures. Lindsay graduated from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, where she studied under Craig Nelson, Carolyn Meyer and Laurie Kersey, then went on to start her career teaching at O’Neill’s Fine Arts in Malibu, California.
A move to Paris, and consequent study of it’s decorative history and sumptuous archetecture, further unfurled Lindsay’s artistic passion and greatly influences her richly detailed and classical paintings. Impressions from travels throughout Europe and the United States, as well as thorough study of master’s paintings in museums, can be seen in a Lindsay Goodwin painting. The viewer is transported to a time of elegance and grace.
Ms. Goodwin was chosen as one the Southwest Art magazine’s brightest young artists in their 2005 feature “21 Under 31: Introducing 21 Young Arists You Should Know”, and as one of American Art Collector’s 2005 “Leading Ladies”. Gardner Colby Gallery is pleased and honored to represent a young artist with such exceptional talent.
