As a youngster in Syracuse, New York, Corso took an early interest in art, so that by age eight he was drawing and working in pastel. At Syracuse University he studied art and architecture. His fascination for portraiture led him to the famous Austrian portrait painter Robert Hoffman for eight years of private instruction. He went on to work and study with others such as Daniel Greene of New York and Jack Callahan of Rockport, Massachusetts.

Confident and expressive brushwork and an extremely proficient use of light are the trademarks of Corso’s work. Many of his paintings are executed on location in plein-air fashion, and he continually travels to find and paint new locations. The special quality of light found on Martha’s Vineyard has long inspired Corso. His interpretation of summer clouds over various Vineyard venues and the way sun reflects off them is distinctly “Corsoesque.” The end result is a bold, fresh traditional style.

Recognized as one of America’s most distinguished impressionist painters, Corso’s work is included in many private and corporate collections nationwide; most recently his work was selected for the permanent collection of the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Naples, Florida. He is a Copley Master at Boston’s prestigious Copley Society and is also a member of the Pastel Society of America and Allied Artists, New York. He has won numerous awards and has been published in both Antiques and Fine Arts Magazine and Yankee Magazine. Three of Corso’s paintings were chosen for inclusion in the recent The Best of Oil Painting by Rockport Publishers.

Mr Corso is in many private collections including The Ritz Carlton Golf Resort in Naples and The Cloisters Resort in Sea Island, Georgia. and "Most recently, Mr. Corso was the subject of a lengthy article in American Art Collector magazine"
