Timothy Paul Brown was born in New York City , one of six children raised by very artistic parents - his mother was a ceramicist and a shoe designer and his father was noted artist Marberry Hill Brown.

From a very young age, Tim knew he wanted to be an artist, and had even chosen his current medium - welded steel. Julio Gonzalez, who taught Picasso how to weld, was his inspiration. After graduating in 1990 from Columbus College of
Art & Design in Columbus, Ohio, Tim worked for a welding engineering firm, honing his forging skills. He began selling work as soon as it was completed, and has been a successful sculptor ever since.

Tim’s unique pieces, made of forged, perforated steel, animate whatever space they are in - whether exterior or interior. His figures dance, run, balance on one leg and play musical instruments. They are often represented at the peak of action and ready to move on to something new. His acrobats, dancers and jesters and harlequins are full of life and vitality.

Mr. Brown’s work is part of a number of private and public collections including: North Market, The Success Group, the Sawmill Athletic Club, and the Columbus Metropolitan Libraries, all located in Columbus, Ohio.
